International South to South exchange programme

United Nation University – UNU Nagoya Japan has organized international South to South exchange programme for its partner organizations from Asia, Europe, Africa and America with an aim to learn about the Success projects model, best practices and exchange of ideas to replicate the model of the success projects in many other countries. The team visited one of the PLANT working fishermen village at Kokkilimedu, Mahabalipuram to understand the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility projects which were implemented with the support of Madras Atomic Power Station - MAPS such as community based Ice plant, Artificial Reef project, education and health development activities, infrastructure development and other development projects with support of CSR fund. MAPS CSR team from Kalpakkam explained about the successful implementation of MAPS CSR project. On the same day the participants visited CIKS a NGO implementing organic farming activities at Uthiramerur in Kancheepuram district. On the very next day the team participated in the Access and Benefit Sharing – ABS and CBD conference at Bengaluru which was organized by the FRLHT organization. Since the participants were much exposed to the concept of CSR and its advantages there were lots of fruitful discussion and critical analysis of ABS and CSR. Most of the participants express that to replicate the CSR policy of Indian government in their countries as their industries are getting lots of profits so that they can share CSR fund for the local community development as like in India. the Participants also visited National Biodiversity Board to learn about their activities
