On 7th September 2019, GEF and UNDP assessment team has visited Chennai with an aim to study the present status of marine fisheries resources, Fisheries co-management practices and current status of coastal biodiversity of Tamilnadu. The team visited Chennai Fishing Harbour and interacted with traditional fishermen group. And then the team visited Tamilnadu State Fisheries Department and had a discussion with the Additional Director Ms.Noorjagan. She explained clearly about Fisheries Development policies and programme, issues and concerns. The team also visited National Biodiversity Authority for further studies. PLANT was a host.
