Project Overview
The PLANT - REEF FOR FISH FOR-EVER PROJECT, supported by the UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP), is a transformative initiative focused on restoring marine ecosystems, increasing fish populations, and enhancing the livelihoods of coastal communities through sustainable, community-led conservation strategies.
Objectives
- Restore damaged coral reefs and marine biodiversity.
- Deploy artificial reefs to serve as habitats for marine life.
- Promote sustainable fishing and reduce pressure on natural ecosystems.
- Engage local communities, especially youth and women, in marine conservation.
- Strengthen community resilience through alternative livelihoods.
