The Scoping Workshop on Preparation of Scoping Report & Plan towards Implementation of the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) in Trawl Fisheries was held on 27 March 2026 at the ICAR-CIBA Auditorium, Chennai. Organized under the guidance of national and international agencies including FAO, BOBP, ICAR, and CMFRI, the workshop focused on promoting sustainable fisheries management through ecosystem-based approaches. The sessions brought together researchers, policymakers, fisheries experts, field practitioners, and fisherfolk to collaboratively develop strategies for responsible trawl fisheries management along the Chennai coast.
Dr. R.T. John Suresh, Mr. Jeremiah Pandian, and Mr. Jaikumar from PLANT Trust actively participated in the workshop and contributed by sharing their field experiences and insights.
